Reproductive Coercion and Abuse: Recognising, Asking and Responding in General Practice

This practical session will introduce reproductive coercion and abuse (RCA) and how it may present in general practice. We will explore how to recognise possible indicators of RCA, how to ask sensitively about reproductive autonomy and possible family and domestic violence, and how to respond safely when concerns are identified or disclosed.

The session will focus on practical approaches that can be used within the realities of a GP consultation, including supporting patient choice and autonomy, immediate considerations, and local referral and support pathways.
