Sharing the Challenges and Appreciation of Rural Practice

The Midwest General Practitioners Network in Western Australia exists to facilitate continuing medical education of doctors and to encourage networking between Health Professionals through education and social programs. It is run by volunteer local doctors and is for all doctors in the Midwest: not just for GPs. We encourage all local doctors and medical students to get involved.

For many years the MWGPN has been providing weekly breakfast education sessions for doctors of all specialties every Friday during school term. Sessions earn ACRRM and RACGP CPD points. We have partnered with WA Regional Training Hubs, a component of the Australian Department of Health’s Integrated Rural Training Pipeline for Medicine which aims to expand post-graduate training opportunities within the regions and produce a future medical workforce that has been locally trained to service regional, rural, and remote communities around Australia.
